I don't believe there are sites that show an actual install (which I should of done and will probably show soon) but there is a link out here somwhere that shows how to remove the acutal gauge cluster. It took me a total of ~20 minutes from the removal of my cluster to the prying of the cross screws (in order to remove the cluster face) and the actual inserting of the rings. Sure of you are not a DIY guy or not that technical it may be a bit challenging but not that bad. The chrome rings are not that difficult to install contrary to popular belief. It is made by a company called AROMETRICS, and they simply attach to the vent by a clip that is designed to grab one of the vents vertical plastic thingy. It is argubly the best air freshner I have owned in terms of long lasting scent and of course looks. Ok it seems everyone keeps asking about the cool little air freshener I got in the E39 and also the complexity of removing the cluster and installing the chrome rings.ġ.Let's begin with the Air Freshner. I really want to learn more about the swanky air freshener that is featured in the pictures above. Nonetheless a nice change to my dull looking E39 dash. The OE rings on my 01 E46 were a little nicer. Got it done and they look great but the gauges bezels are not as narrow as I thought they would be. I did it over the weekend and it was way more invasive than I thought it would be. The rings are a lot harder to install then most retailers explain.
